The First Day Of Ramadhan - With Help From IKEA

Today is the first day of fasting for me and the first time fasting ever for joakim. After morning prayers at 6am he stayed up to work and i went back to sleep *guilty.

I'm so proud of him, he handles fasting like a pro! 10000x better than i! With the migrains i get, i was in bed half of the day not so great a start but i'm looking forward my body getting used to it.

We were in Ikea today checking out the new 2008 range. Love this dining table in the pix above. Shopping always works well as a distraction for hunger and thirst. It didn't really help when we had to walk past the cafeteria where the smell of food (swedish food) made my mouth water....shame on me!! hehe. No free tea for us this time, just as well i forgot my ikea card today.

We both felt so lucky as we dug into the chicken rice we had for break-fast. I can't imagine how it must be for those who don't even have 7pm to look forward to as a time to fill their empty stomachs.

I also feel so sorry for all the Indonesian's affected by the earthquake. It hit us a little harder since we were just there a week ago. But then again , god gives bigger trials to those he loves more. I pray that they will get back on their feet soonest, and still be able to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa like all of us lucky Singaporeans.
